Hey, I’m Abby
Creative, goofy, nature lover, & sappy romantic.
I’m an adventure portrait and intimate wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon — always down to travel for love and a little chaos.
I grew up in the mountains of Southern California (yes, they exist), spending my days outside until dusk accidentally became my curfew. Summers were for Yosemite trips with my entire family — grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles — loud, loving, and a little unhinged in the best way. That’s where my love for connection, nature, and shared experiences really took root.
My people mean everything to me. I’m one of four siblings, have a huge extended family, an incredible circle of friends, and a partner who keeps me grounded and inspired. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me floating a lazy river, paddleboarding a new lake, or editing photos with a matcha in hand.

So, I grew up in the mud and always loved sunlight and funny angels and looking at things from a different perspective. At some point I stole my moms nice new starter camera and started laying in the grass taking pictures of blades of grass with morning dew on them. I started romanticizing life early.
I quickly fell in love with being behind the lens. Shortly after I discovered I could shoot in black in white. That was it, I knew what my destiny was.
Cue my obsession with National Geographic. I collected so so so many Nat Geo magazines. At some point I realized being a nature photographer did not pay. Not just that it didn’t pay well, but that most nature photographers work mostly for free.
Enter adulthood. I went to community college. I loved anthropology and ancient art history, and I hated the rest. I dropped out after my first semester. Unsure of there to go from here I stumbled into a pizza shop looking for a job. They had a cute little event venue attached to the restaurant and I started working the weddings. Eventually I started to help plan the weddings we held there. It was great because I love, love. I know that’s a cliche, but it’s true. I cried at EVERY wedding. Seeing the joy, the tears, and the memories being made at wedding I started to fall in love with them as well.
I quickly realized a real career could be made combing 3 things I love. Photography, love and making people feel seen.

I love making people feel seen, heard, beautiful, whimsical.
Before the shoot: We’ll email a bit and have a call to make sure I’m the right fit for you. If you’re local to PDX we can meet for a coffee and chat in person if that’s more your groove!
Day of the shoot: I’ll gently guide and direct you. My goal is to let you be yourself, and hopefully let a little of your inner child run free. It takes everyone, even experienced models, at least 10-15 minutes to get comfy in front of the camera.
If anything looks or feels completely off, I’ll let you know. But most of the time I’ll be reminding you to take deep breaths and relax. I promise you look better on camera than you think you do!
I think I’m like most millennials and don’t love overly posed and stiff images. Think about all the times your parents forced you to stand still and plaster on a fake smile as a kid. Yeah, we won’t be doing any of that!

My editing style is warm, natural, and light-driven. I keep colors soft and true to life, skin tones honest, and moments exactly as they felt. I’m not interested in heavy filters or trendy edits—I want your photos to feel like memories you can step back into. The kind that still feel like you years from now.
